On August 11, 2014, the Government of Quebec announced that the popular Quebec Skilled Worker program has reached its cap for this application cycle and is no longer accepting applications.
The 2014 Quebec Skilled Worker (QSW) program was restricted by a cap of 6,500 applications, which was reached in mid-August after less than 5 months of the program being open.
Applicants with a valid job offer from a Quebec employer are also exempt from the caps and will be able to submit their applications to the program until March 31, 2015.
The 2015 Quebec Skilled Worker program is scheduled to open on April 1, 2015. The Government of Quebec has yet to release any details about the composition of the 2015 program, but the 2014 program could give applicants an idea of what to expect from the 2015 program.
